Strategic Planning – One Client, One Record
On Tuesday, September 9th the Giiwednong Health Link team, representatives from stakeholder communities, and facilitators from renowned consulting firm Health Tech met on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation for a strategic planning session focused on the One Client, One Record project.
The goal of the strategic planning session was to reset the focus, priorities, and overall desired outcome of the long anticipated One Client, One Record project – an initiative that aims to unify the multiple siloed Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) from our stakeholder communities, Aboriginal Health Access Centers (AHACs), and the Ontario Family Health Teams and hospital networks in our catchment area.
The day exceeded expectations regarding attendance, participation, and fruitful discussions. Under the careful guidance of our Health Tech facilitators Dr. Tasleem Nimjee and Kathleen Lavoie, the project’s potential positive outcomes, roadblocks, difficulties, scope, and potential governance structures were discussed at length.
The next steps for the project will center around a report delivered by Health Tech in the beginning weeks of Q3 outlining what transpired throughout the day as well as outlining tangible next steps to move the project forward. The report will be circulated with our stakeholder members who were unable to attend as well as with those in attendance.
