A New Chapter in Digital Health: Welcoming Mushkegowuk Health

On April 1, 2026, Giiwednong Health Link proudly welcomed Mushkegowuk Health as the third partner in our Digital Health Expansion Initiative.

Mushkegowuk Health is a community-governed primary healthcare hub supporting the wholistic health and wellness needs of the Mushkegowuk territory. Its work serves and supports citizens from seven Omushkego Cree First Nations: Attawapiskat First Nation, Chapleau Cree First Nation, Fort Albany First Nation, Kashechewan First Nation, Missanabie Cree First Nation, Moose Cree First Nation, and Taykwa Tagamou Nation.

These communities span the James Bay coast and inland Northern Ontario, while Mushkegowuk Health also supports members living in Timmins and the surrounding area. Across this broad and geographically diverse region, effective digital health systems can help strengthen information sharing, coordination, and continuity of care.

Through the partnership, GHL is working directly with Mushkegowuk’s teams to understand their programs, workflows, and priorities before developing solutions tailored to their needs. Support includes customized PS Suite training, improved workflows, purpose-built electronic forms, stronger data collection, and dashboards that transform service information into meaningful insight.

Mushkegowuk Health’s addition represents another exciting step in the thoughtful growth of the initiative. We look forward to learning alongside their teams and supporting their vision for culturally grounded, community-directed healthcare.
