What we do
We provide digital health resources such as Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) support to member First Nation Health Centre teams. Our team prioritizes innovative solutions in data analytics to promote the transformation of our stakeholder communities to become leaders in data-driven decision-making healthcare centres.
We also collaborate with other strategic partners in the health sector to plan, align, and implement First Nation health sector efficiencies that are realized through digital health solutions.
Programs & Initiatives
OCOR Project
One Client, One Record (OCOR) is an EMR-based project that has been in the works since the inception of GHL. OCOR aims to connect and integrate the community EMRs so patients across Manitoulin Island and the Northshore receive seamless care, all the while giving providers wholesome views of patient charts. The OCOR project will align with Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) legislation and Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession (OCAP) principles.
Diabetic Retinopathy Eye Scanner Program
Giiwednong Health Link (GHL) facilitates a Diabetic Retinopathy Eye Scanner Sharing Program in partnership with the Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle (IDHC) to improve access to early detection and treatment of diabetic retinopathy in rural First Nations communities. Through this program, two retinal imaging cameras are available for use across our 14 First Nations member communities, providing a crucial tool for preventative eye care.
