2025 Annual General Meeting
The AGM was successfully held on June 26, 2025, at the Whitefish River First Nation Community Centre in Birch Island, ON, with in-person attendance. The gathering opened with a Welcome Song and Prayer led by Elder Leona Nahwegahbow and the Mushkway Gaabow Drum Group from Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation, setting a meaningful tone for the day.
Following quorum and formal business proceedings, including the approval of the agenda, previous meeting minutes, audited financial statements, and the annual report, members heard welcoming remarks from Chief Rodney Nahwegahbow of Whitefish River First Nation and Leila Macumber, GHL President.
The keynote presentation, “Integrating Digital Health Tools into First Nation Health Centres,” was co-presented by Elizabeth Edgar-Webkamigad, Director of Health & Human Services for Batchewana First Nation, alongside the GHL team, who showcased EMR Dashboards and the Community Portal. The meeting concluded with closing remarks, a prayer, and travelling song, again led by Elder Leona Nahwegahbow and the Mushkway Gaabow Drum Group, followed by a community lunch.
GHL extends its sincere appreciation to community leaders, health directors, managers, and all members who continue to dedicate their time and effort toward advancing health and wellness for First Nation communities.
